How we handle personal data
Last updated 9 September 2026
This page covers the websites portvarde.no and portvarde.com. It does not cover the Portvarde application itself, which runs in each organisation's own Azure subscription under its own data processing agreement.
Data controller
[To be completed before launch: registered company name, organisation number and postal address.]
Privacy questions go to hei@portvarde.no.
What we collect
The site has one form, “Request a demo”. If you do not send it, we store nothing about you.
From the form we store:
- name, email address and organisation – so we can reply
- phone number and organisation size, if you fill them in
- what the enquiry is about, and the message you write
- that the consent box was actually ticked, and when
- which language the form was in, so you get a reply in the same language
- the address you came from, and any utm parameters in the link – so we know which channel the enquiry came through
We do not buy data, and we do not gather anything about you from other sources.
Legal basis
Consent, GDPR article 6(1)(a). You give it by ticking the box in the form, and you can withdraw it at any time by sending us an email. If you withdraw it, we delete the enquiry.
How long we keep it
[To be completed before launch: retention period for enquiries that do not lead to a customer relationship. Suggested: 24 months, then deletion.]
The rate-limit count described below is deleted automatically after one day.
Who processes the data
We use three sub-processors, and no others:
- Vercel – hosts the site and serves the pages.
- Neon – the database the enquiry is stored in.
- Resend – sends the confirmation to you and the notification to us.
[To be completed before launch: which region the database and email sending run in.]
We do not sell data, and we do not share it with anyone other than the three above.
Cookies
The site has no analytics, no tracking and no advertising cookies. That is also why it has no consent banner – there is nothing to consent to.
- portvarde_locale – remembers the language you chose, so your choice is not overridden next time. Set only when you switch language yourself.
- Your choice of light or dark appearance is stored locally in your browser. It is never sent to us.
Country lookup on your first visit
If you open portvarde.no without a language in the address, we send you on to the Norwegian or the English version. That choice is made from the country Vercel has already looked up for the request, and nothing else.
Your IP address is never read in this context, and the country is neither stored nor logged. If you have chosen a language yourself, the lookup does not happen at all.
The spam limit
So the form cannot be filled with automated submissions, we count submissions per connection: five per hour at most.
The counter stores the IP address as a key in a separate table, together with the count. It is not linked to the enquiry, is not used for anything else, and is deleted automatically after one day.
Your rights
You have the right to see what we have stored about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Email hei@portvarde.no and we will reply within 30 days.
If you believe we are handling data about you unlawfully, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
Changes
If we change anything here, we update the date at the top. We do not announce changes by email, since we have no mailing list to announce them to.
